Pregnancy Photography Noosa Heads Sunshine Coast

My truly beauty-full friend, who I utterly adore had some very special news for me a few weeks ago. I am beyond thrilled for B&R and cannot wait to photograph this, their first pregnancy, through to the end. Next session is at 26 weeks, but here is Miss B at 18 weeks. Blooming do you think? I do 🙂

Congratulations to all of the family, it is going to be wonderful 🙂 xxxx

Noosa Photography ~ As time goes by……

Five years ago I photographed the most beautiful little toddler. We played on the beach, hid behind colourful umbrellas and chased seagulls. Today this toddler is a fabulous, beauty-full eight year old, who adores dancing and everything pink and girly. I caught up with Miss A and her older brother for a very quick portrait session in Noosa. It was so quick, we’re going to do it all over again {when the sun comes out} 🙂 We’re also catching up with her adorable cousins, who have grown SO much since I last photographed them. All in all, it’s a bit of a family affair, especially as Miss A’s Mum is like a sister to me. Thank you again Miss A, Master B and of course their gorgeous Mum. See you all again very soon xxx

Noosa Photography ~ Something a lil’ bit new and funky

‘I feel pretty, oh so pretty’..… {sigh} Do you like the new look to Funky Photography? How truly grateful and lucky I feel.  I am surrounded by some of the most talented graphic designer’s, artist’s and photographer’s in Australia. One of those {I know she is going to blush}, is the fabulous Kristy Winter of A Helping Hand for Photographer’s in Business. Not only a wonderful and talented graphic designer, but an awesome photographer to boot,  and a lover of……………well everything I love really 😉 Which is why when I screamed for help with my website, she was there. She listened and worked tirelessly to find the real ‘me’ and turn it into, well, this site. My logo got a face lift and my website is now an all-in-one blog site which I adore. I asked Kris to write a little about herself, and through much blushing {she doesn’t like to talk about herself at all}, she put a little something together.

Thank you so much Miss Kris for the awesome AWESOME work you have done with my site. You truly are a beautiful and talented person, and I am very grateful for everything you have done 🙂 xxx

“For me, photography is to place head, heart and eye along the same line as sight. It is a way of life”

A few years ago, I met an amazing woman, who became an amazing friend. I’ve never known anyone quite like her. When I was sick, she was there for me. If I needed to talk, she was always there. If I was thinking about her, I’d suddenly get a text or a phone call. I used to say to her “you’re ever so spooky”. I’ve never met anyone so completely selfless. A truly soulful person, with an amazing spirit and zest for life, who would do anything, for any one. Then last year, the phone went quiet for a few weeks. I worried, but understood we were both busy. Weeks, turned into a couple of months, so I sent a text. I received a text back to say “I’ll call you tonight”, and she did, with news I didn’t want to hear. Her eldest son was in the Royal Brisbane Hospital receiving treatment for cancer. He had been in there for weeks, and she’d moved into accommodation near the hospital to be with him.

I cannot describe or emphasize enough just ‘what’ my friend and her family have been through. For those that haven’t watched a loved one go through this, it is too difficult to comprehend. ‘D’ endured cycle after cycle of chemotherapy. The month’s in hospital turned into a year. Finally, after a bone marrow transplant, D was allowed home. Throughout his treatment, D’s girlfriend remained with him, strong. They are an incredible couple. Mature for their teenage years and a little bit ‘quirky’ and fun 🙂

Last weekend, we caught up to do something a little bit special for my friend, as D&M, are heading to Europe to see a little bit more of the world. I know my friend is going to miss her boy lots, so Miss A, these are for you. 🙂 A huge thank you to Venita for joining us for the session. Venita took some stunning images that can be seen here.

D&M, have an absolutely amazing time overseas, make wonderful memories and see you when you get back

Sunshine Coast Child and Family Portraiture ~ Noosa Heads

These two little ladies were in cupcake heaven for their very special session here in Noosa Heads. After a few weeks of rain, the weather was just perfect, and the evening sunlight divine. The girls were thrilled to be running their very own ‘bake sale’, {and they made some money too}! Thank you to the B family for waiting soooooo long for your session {in case any one isn’t aware, I have a pretty long wait list}. They do say patience is a virtue! I’m so happy you love your gallery and prints, and I can’t wait to see them on your walls 🙂

More ‘funky news’, we are building a house! Madness I know, but as my hubby’s just hit the big 4~0 we thought we’d better cross something off our bucket list 🙂 Building a house is one of those things on the list, so it’s happening, literally as  type. The blog will therefore be a little bit more personal over the next few months, as I step away from doing portraits, and concentrate on photographing our house build {and documenting the highs and the lows}. I’ve been assured there are plenty of lows involved in house building ~ eek! Let’s hope I’ve got amazing coping mechanisms, and/or plenty of wine 😉

There’s also a big surprise coming to the website soon, but more on that in a few weeks.  Have a wonderful long weekend everyone, and more sessions being blogged soon {am VERY behind}. I apologise to my client’s that are waiting.
