Today the flooring is being finished. Pele and Lenny have done an awesome job. We worried about having bamboo flooring, but it looks amazing. Thank you SO much guys! We got our bamboo from Bamboo Australia in Belli Park, so a nice local company too. My lovely hubby also gave in and, {deep breath} I GOT MY PENDANTS LIGHTS! They are totally gorgeous and very much worth the $$$’s {although Mark would beg to differ}. I’m pretty sure he’ll grow to love them as much as I do, eventually. You can see them HERE. They’re going to look lovely in the kitchen.

So the next blog post be when we’ve moved in ~ eek, it hardly seems real.

Anyone that knows me, knows I am passionate about a few things; vintage clothing, heels, food, ‘geekery’ {no, it’s not a word but it should be} and above all else music. Music is a huge part of my world. It helps me get through my day, my editing and it inspires me for sessions. It is always therefore such a pleasure to be asked to help create a vision for music artists. I have worked with some absolutely incredible Australian artists, so it was an honour to be contacted by a very successful music manager from Melbourne and asked to work with Australian singer/songwriter Alys Longmate. Alys is an amazing music artist and such a beauty-full person who has recently become an ambassador for Martin Guitars {apparently that’s  like Nikon choosing me to represent them ~ and supplying me with their newest cameras, I can only dream. C’mon Nikon I’m worth it}!

Here are just a few from our time together. A huge thank you to the lovely folk at the Metal Tiger Tea Emporium for allowing us to have our session at their wonderful cafe in Noosa, and also to the beautiful Poets Cafe in Montville. Thank you Miss M {and mum} for a lovely afternoon in the sunshine. Let’s hope the sun returns to the Sunshine Coast soon as it’s pretty dismal at the moment.

We’re now at the ‘fit’ stage. The tilers have done an awesome job {even with my crap taste in tiles} and the painter has started on the exterior render. The biggest surprise was the scaffolding has been removed. We can now see what we really ‘have’. I’m really happy with the views from the first floor. We were doubtful of the narrow windows {only size we could have due to the garage roof pitch}, but they’ve worked out perfectly. I will now sleep with a mountain behind me, which I’m told is good for you.

So what’s next? Electrical fit out, kitchen and bathrooms. Oh and to finish off the roof and theatre room – which caved in thanks to the huge amount of rain we’ve had recently!

I’ve received a few emails regarding bookings. At present I’m booked until June 2013. I have a list of local photographers I recommend. Please drop me an email and I can forward them on to you.

So with the kids finally back at school, the cyclones and bad weather easing and normality gradually settling in, the builders are back and they are really pushing through the workload. It’s so exciting to finish my day and head to site to see the progress. I haven’t really been able to take any ‘proper’ photographs, but here is a quick glimpse ‘IG’ style, along with some other hippy happy snaps of our daily lives.

I just wanted to add, thank you so much to Karla for your lovely email. I really, really hope you see this, as I’ve tried to respond to your email several times and it keeps on pinging back to me. Would love to catch up and chat over coffee, especially as we’re both building with plantation homes {and live so close}.  Call me girl, or find me on Facebook!

Here are just a few images taken from our very unique morning at the lake, and also a few of the lovely little man himself. It was amazing to get there so early in the morning and be totally surrounded by swirling mist. So serene and peaceful. Lake Weyba is an incredible special place to both of our families, so it was the obvious choice for Miss J’s first session at 30 weeks. You can see the families last family session here. It was a very busy morning in the F household when I arrived, but I did manage to get a few images of breakfast time. I have to say the F family is the most organised family EVER! So impressed. Wish my parental skills were as good as yours Miss J!

Well two thousand and twelve was certainly a year for moving forward, pushing the creative boundaries and achieving fabulous things, both professionally and personally.  I am so grateful for all the support I’ve received from clients, family and friends. You are all uh-mazing! I am looking forward to 2013, not only because I have some wonderful and interesting new projects to do, but also because our home will be complete. Our builders are having a little siesta before the next stage, possibly because my husband has been supplying them with copious amounts of beer in the form of Summers XXXX :) If we don’t have straight walls, I will blame the husband :) But the break has given us a chance to sneak in and have a good walk around the house, and of course, plan! I’m such a ‘list’ girl, I make lists purely for the joy of crossing everything off, it’s such a sense of achievement. So, over the Christmas break, I sat down with a glass of wine, a pencil and drawing pad, and started ‘dreaming’ and planning the interior design. My board on Pinterest has never looked so good!  I’ve spent hours recently pinning everything I love to my ‘home’ board.

So here is the stage we’re at now, tadarrrrrr - we have a house and bricks, yup I’m easily pleased :) And our natural ‘panoramic’ window has worked out a treat. Such an amazing view of Mt Cooroy to wake up too every day. So very blessed.

Now I know I should really be blogging some of the wonderful sessions I’ve done recently {seriously I worked right up until Christmas Eve}, and I know I have a few eager families waiting to see their sneak peeks, but this is my on line journal so I do want to document this next stage, mainly for my gorgeous family in the UK. I hope you understand.

So now to the nitty gritty! Planning the interior. I’m having huge amounts of fun with this, and have found some wonderful places for furniture, both locally and online. My ‘wish’ list is ever growing. My home inspiration board is looking rather lovely. Images are from Pinterest, you can find the links HERE

What an absolutely incredible 2012 it’s been. I still have to pinch myself to see what we’ve achieved this year, and the best is yet to come……..our gorgeous new home :) A huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts to our clients, family and friends who have made our year such a pleasure. It really is a joy to be part of your lives, and watch and document your children and families grow.
